Kurt Verheyen started on Radio Reflex in Mechelen in 1989 and in 1995 he got his own radio show "Dance-Zone". That show was so successful that after 2 years he could be heard on 25 radios in Flanders and the Netherlands.
Kurt is also well known by vinyl-lovers in Flanders from the epic record store "Wiff Records" in Mechelen. There he got to know Maurits Engelen and that resulted in his first album "2 Shy - Your love". It was a modest hit in Belgium but a top hit in Spain. As a producer, various releases followed in various styles of music and as different project names, Poltertec, Acapulco, Sr.Kay, .. A new project "Verheyen & Vanvaeck" came to life with fellow townsman Steve Vanvaeck. The first release Y.A.B. was an immediate hit, for weeks No. 1 in the Ultratop dance list. "Be Strong" and "My Star" with Jessy also scored in the charts.
Kurt was also the resident DJ of the Donna Soiree's. Afterwards he took part in the TMF parties and finally Kurt ended up in 2002 at the legendary Rio Club where he is still a DJ today and is responsible for the artistic part. In recent years, Kurt has also been heard more and more at après-ski parties at home and abroad, including well-known ski areas in France, Italy, Switzerland and Austria. Since 2018, Kurt is a part of the core DJs of the well-known Moose Bars, which can be found throughout Flanders.
2018 was the year of a comeback as a producer, after a silence of more than 10 years, several new releases have arrived on a well-known international label, under the appropriate name "Kurtis Back". But there is also something international planned under his alter ego Dj Kürtzi Aus Flandern.
2019: Dj Kurt Verheyen, 30 years DJ! Big news coming up! His first achievement was Tomorrowland Winter in Alpe d’Huez. A new regular summer site is also announced: Kurt will regularly be heard in the Ipanema Beachclub, in and next to the patio of the Versuz in Hasselt.
